About the Role
The purpose of this role is to develop a high level of competence with Nucor’s detailing system (RebarCAD), gain a total understanding of the business system as it relates to detailing and contract management, and become capable of independently detailing more complex projects while beginning to manage contractual issues. Employees are expected to demonstrate conduct consistent with Nucor’s vision and values while independently detailing and coordinating moderately complex small projects. They will continue advancing RebarCAD skills, verify drawings and contractual information, and manage change orders with minimal supervision. Duties also include detailing accessories, collaborating with job‑site personnel, communicating with architects, engineers, steel placers, and customers, addressing contract adds and deductions, generating reports, and entering drawings into the tracking system. • Build and maintain library routines in RebarCAD for future reuse. • Verify drawings, dates, specifications, and contractual information. • Communicate changes to customers, produce change orders, and update business systems. • Detail accessories, mesh, couplers, dowel bars, and generate material lists. • Collaborate with job‑site personnel to determine detailing and delivery requirements. • Liaise with architects/engineers, steel placers, and customers on project queries. • Manage contract adds and deductions, escalating complex issues to supervisor. • Generate project reports and enter drawings into the tracking system. • Maintain organized, detail‑oriented work and prioritize responsibilities. • Apply industry standards (CRSI, ACI) in detailing work.

What You Bring
Minimum qualifications include a vocational certificate in CAD design/drafting or equivalent training, at least four years of rebar detailing experience using RebarCAD or another CAD‑based system, and working knowledge of industry references such as CRSI and ACI. Candidates must be organized, detail‑oriented, able to manage time effectively, work well in teams on large projects, solve problems, and possess strong verbal communication skills. A preferred qualification is a two‑year technical diploma from an accredited institution. Overtime may be required, and the role involves typical office activities and occasional physical tasks such as lifting equipment and bending.
