About the Role
To support our continued growth, we are seeking an Electrical Engineer to join our team in Terrace, British Columbia. In this role, you will help lead the design and optimization of electrical power distribution and control systems for both greenfield and brownfield mining and heavy industrial projects. • Apply electrical engineering expertise from conceptual design through project completion. • Lead design of electrical power distribution and control systems in industrial and hazardous environments. • Prepare and review specifications and datasheets for switchgear, MCCs, transformers, and other electrical equipment. • Conduct power system studies (load flow, short‑circuit, arc‑flash) using ETAP or EasyPower. • Integrate safety, regulatory compliance, and risk analysis into system designs. • Develop designs for electrical distribution, motor control, grounding, lighting, and cable support systems. • Perform engineering calculations and manage technical decisions with senior leadership input. • Conduct industrial site reviews, field verifications, and client site visits. • Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams across offices to ensure seamless project delivery. • Prepare technical reports, construction specifications, cost estimates, and design documentation. • Mentor junior staff and contribute to team capability and technical excellence. • Build and maintain strong client relationships through responsive, solutions‑oriented service.

What You Bring
• 5+ years of electrical engineering design experience on heavy industrial projects. • Registered Professional Engineer (P.Eng) in BC; eligibility for other jurisdictions is an asset. • Working knowledge of CSA, ANSI, IEEE standards and applicable codes. • Proficiency in power system modelling software and electrical design tools. • Ability to design distribution, grounding, lightning protection, lighting, fire alarm, heat tracing, and cathodic protection systems. • Experience attending industrial sites and complying with safety regulations. • Beneficial experience in mills, smelters, mines, refineries, ports, pulp and paper, industrial plants, or renewable energy systems. • Knowledge of instrumentation, controls, automation, PLC/DCS/HMI systems and modelling tools is an asset. • Valid driver’s licence. • Strong writing skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office. • Ability to work collaboratively within a project team environment.

Benefits
Compensation varies by region, with ranges from $76,900 to $112,800 depending on location and other factors such as education, experience, and performance.
