About the Role

As a Lead Mechanical Design Engineer – Aeroderivative Gas Turbine, you will design and develop new products, solutions, and systems while improving existing components, requiring an in‑depth understanding of complex technical concepts. The role demands responsibility for mechanical design and durability activities across aero gas turbine components and assemblies. Key responsibilities include leading projects for existing turbine fleets and new products, managing 3D part modeling, hand calculations, tolerance stack‑up, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing, and maintaining the bill of materials and configurations within PLM. You will also perform mechanical durability work such as thermal/structural FEM, static and dynamic analysis, high‑cycle and low‑cycle fatigue studies, failure analysis, and support component qualification through testing. The position requires coordination with global engineering, manufacturing, procurement, and supply‑chain teams, facilitating cross‑functional technical discussions and overseeing outsourced engineering and condition‑based maintenance tasks. Additionally, you will document all design work, present findings in design reviews, and deliver advanced technical training to foster innovation within the team. • Lead design projects for aeroderivative gas turbine systems, both existing fleets and new products. • Execute mechanical design tasks: 3D part modeling, hand calculations, tolerance stack‑up, GD&T definition, and BOM/configuration management. • Perform mechanical durability analyses including thermal/structural FEM, static and dynamic analysis, and HCF/LCF failure studies. • Support component qualification through laboratory testing and field performance reviews. • Coordinate global cross‑functional engineering teams, facilitate technical discussions, and manage outsourced engineering and condition‑based maintenance activities. • Document design work in record books and present results during design reviews. • Provide advanced technical training to team members and promote an innovative culture.
