About the Role
Key duties include performing scheduled maintenance, commissioning equipment on delivery and on‑site, conducting root‑cause analysis to resolve issues, delivering preventive and cost‑effective repairs, preparing maintenance reports, and ensuring all work follows safety standards. The technician will also mentor junior staff and coach customer technicians. • Perform maintenance and servicing of mobile equipment, planning required tools and parts. • Commission products, including pre‑delivery inspections and on‑site hot commissioning. • Conduct root cause analysis to identify and resolve common equipment problems. • Execute preventive and cost‑efficient repairs, understanding component functionality. • Recommend equipment or process improvements based on customer feedback. • Prepare and submit maintenance reports and obtain customer authorization for invoicing. • Collect technical feedback for inclusion in the sales database. • Assign simple tasks to junior staff and provide guidance and coaching. • Train customer technicians on basic servicing and maintenance principles. • Ensure all routine work adheres to safety standards.

Sandvik is seeking a qualified Service Technician for its Virginia branch in Brisbane. The role involves diagnosing, maintaining and repairing advanced mobile equipment used in mining and construction, with comprehensive product training and support from expert personnel. The ideal candidate holds an Australian‑recognised Mechanical Trade Certification, preferably with experience on trucks, loaders and drilling mobile mining equipment. They must demonstrate a strong safety culture, excellent communication and customer‑service skills, self‑motivation, a Class C manual driver’s licence, basic computer literacy, and be able to pass drug and alcohol screening and a pre‑employment medical.
