Assist construction projects with engineering tasks, reporting, QA/QC, and coordination.

About the Role
• Participates with project QA/QC planning to ensure quality for assigned tasks. • Learns and participates in the estimating and change management process and tools, including quantity take‑off and review of subcontractor proposals. • Works on site with the project team to support a variety of tasks such as monitoring crew size, self‑perform hours, materials, quantity and equipment. • Participates in activities such as punch lists, city inspections, safety reviews, quality reviews and preparation of the necessary documentation. • Posts drawings and specifications with most recent information. • Organizes and participates in various project meetings and prepares and disseminates required documentation as appropriate. • Participates and prepares a variety of reports including daily and weekly progress reports, unit reporting, percentage complete, manpower, production schedules, and equipment tracking. • Performs periodic job site observations with project leadership. • Creates procurement logs based on the project schedule and specification requirements, tracks shop drawings and follows up with deliveries as directed by the project team. • Provides progress updates and reports back to the project team to support the scheduling process. • Supports the close out of projects, including punch lists, operations and maintenance manuals, and as‑built drawings. • Utilizes company best practice standards and fundamentals for building and construction techniques. • Builds relationships and develops communication and interpersonal skills with tradespeople and project team members such as foremen, journeymen, superintendents, and subcontractors. • Develops an understanding of various company functions and support roles and how they contribute to project success. • Learns best practices for identifying, developing and integrating self‑perform opportunities into the project. • Participates in implementing project safety plans and ensures a culture of compliance through training, toolbox talks and communication with Safety Representatives. • Supports the preparation of estimates, schedules, work plans, daily logs, and related documents. • Pre‑plans crew activities, fulfills daily task plan requirements, completes look‑ahead schedules and provides updates to the project superintendent. • Supports and/or completes job set‑up and project administration in CMiC and other company technologies. • Participates with the project team in managing subcontractor scope of work. • Coordinates with internal project support functions as directed by the project team. • Controls costs by evaluating and improving processes of assigned tasks. • Assists with the development and maintenance of the project crew schedule. • Provides analysis for MOC materials, other costs and equipment on the project site. • Supports and participates in training and mentoring less experienced project team members.

What You Bring
The Project Engineer 2 supports routine construction and field execution using company best practices and tools. The role involves general construction management, punch‑list execution, and self‑perform work to gain a full understanding of JE Dunn’s building process and project delivery. Successful candidates demonstrate accurate, timely work, strong verbal and written communication, and proficiency with MS Office. They understand Lean philosophy, construction technology, self‑perform labor productivity, and the means and methods of construction management, and can build collaborative relationships with internal and external teams. A bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering or a related field is required, though equivalent experience may be considered. At least two years of construction experience are expected. The position may require lifting up to 50 lb, travel, relocation, and non‑traditional hours, and can involve exposure to extreme conditions. Physical activities range from frequent standing and walking to occasional computer work.
