About the Role

The accountant will oversee all accounting functions for assigned projects, support project teams with accounting inquiries, and prepare documentation for interim and year‑end external audits. Responsibilities include reviewing owner contracts, tracking preliminary notices, preparing AIA billings with supporting paperwork, and managing lien waivers to ensure subcontractor compliance. The role also requires timely processing of subcontractor payments, cost coding, and verification of vendor invoice accuracy. Month‑end, quarter‑end, and year‑end close activities—including journal entries, reconciliations, and accruals—must be completed on schedule. • Oversee accounting functions for assigned construction projects. • Assist project teams with accounting questions and documentation. • Prepare and support interim and year‑end external audits. • Review owner contracts and track preliminary notices for accounting tasks. • Prepare AIA billings and assemble supporting documentation. • Collect, review, and manage subcontractor lien waivers and compliance. • Process subcontractor payments promptly. • Perform month‑end and quarter‑end close, including journal entries and reconciliations. • Code costs and verify accuracy of vendor and subcontractor invoices. • Process job cost and sales tax accruals and manage receivable payments. • Maintain adherence to all financial reporting deadlines.

What You Bring

Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s degree and have at least five years of progressive accounting experience, including three years in construction accounting. Prior public‑accounting experience supporting external audits is strongly preferred, and CPA, CMA, or CCIFP certification is a plus. Proficiency with online integrated accounting systems and Microsoft Office, especially Excel, is required. Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills are essential, and candidates in Pacific or Central time zones are preferred for collaboration. • Bachelor’s degree with at least five years of progressive accounting experience, including three years in construction accounting. • CPA, CMA, or CCIFP certification preferred. • Proficient with integrated accounting systems and Microsoft Excel. • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
