About the Role
The architect will work with users, stakeholders, and product owners to translate mission needs into scalable solutions, guide development teams, and serve as a technical bridge ensuring operational viability and compliance with security and enterprise standards. Applicants are warned about job‑placement fraud; KBR never requests advance payment and carefully protects candidate personal information. • Lead architecture and solution design for enterprise‑scale applications and platform services. • Engage users, stakeholders, and product owners to elicit and decompose requirements into architectural designs and technical backlogs. • Define system and application architectures, conduct trade studies, select technologies, and specify interfaces. • Provide architectural guidance to development teams, ensuring alignment with standards, security, and maintainability. • Act as a technical bridge between mission needs and engineering execution. • Mentor engineers and influence technical decisions across multiple teams. • Maintain an active Secret clearance. • Design scalable, maintainable systems, microservices APIs, event‑driven architectures, and secure CI/CD pipelines. • Apply strong Agile methodology skills, requirement decomposition, and technical leadership. • Provide SATCOM domain expertise: ground/space/network integration, EMI/EMC impacts, service ordering and provisioning workflows, and data flows between ordering, management, and monitoring systems. • Utilize Infrastructure‑as‑Code tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation. • Implement observability solutions using Prometheus, Grafana, or ELK stack. • Apply cloud‑native security and compliance tooling. • Design and operate Kubernetes clusters, including monitoring and administration. • Work with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, GCP, or Oracle Cloud. • Integrate service mesh technologies (e.g., Linkerd) and manage certificates. • Implement identity and access management solutions such as Keycloak.

What You Bring
• Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field (or equivalent experience). • Possess 10+ years of software engineering experience, including 2+ years in solution architecture and 2+ years in DevOps or platform engineering. • Demonstrate hands‑on experience with microservices, Linux, Java/Spring Boot, Python/Bash scripting, CI/CD platforms (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins), Docker, Kafka/RabbitMQ, and PostgreSQL, Redis, MongoDB. • Familiar with front‑end architecture (e.g., Angular) and GitOps tools like ArgoCD or Helm.

Benefits
Compensation ranges from $156,000 to $196,000 in California and will reflect the candidate’s knowledge, skills, abilities, and internal parity.
