About the Role
The Design Manager will lead a multidisciplinary team delivering the wastewater programme within a newly appointed UK water consultancy framework, ensuring projects are on time, on budget, and technically excellent while engaging closely with client leadership. What You Bring
Candidates must hold Chartered Engineer status, possess deep knowledge of water and wastewater treatment technologies, and have proven engineering leadership experience. They should have delivered feasibility and outline designs in the UK water sector, support bids and review technical deliverables, and demonstrate strong communication with internal and client teams. Willingness to travel to client sites is required. • Chartered Engineer (CEng) status with a recognised professional institution • Knowledge of conventional and innovative water/wastewater treatment technologies • Proven engineering technical leadership • Experience delivering feasibility and outline design solutions in the UK water sector • Ability to support bids, fee proposals, and service offers • Capability to review technical deliverables, calculations and reports • Strong communication and collaboration with internal multidisciplinary and client teams • Willingness to lead client engagement and travel to client sites • Experience building and developing junior staff teams • Understanding of wastewater treatment sustainability and investment drivers in England and Wales • Excellent concise technical report writing skills
