About the Role

The engineer will collect and analyze data on substation equipment, structures, and protection devices, and produce design deliverables such as single‑line diagrams, grounding grids, lightning protection, and AC/DC schematics in accordance with IEEE, NESC, NERC and utility standards. Calculations for loads, equipment sizing, voltage drop, short‑circuit and coordination will be performed with minimal supervision. Technical reports, risk assessments, and construction support documents will be prepared, and the engineer will collaborate with cross‑functional teams—including project controls, procurement, and permitting—to ensure safe and reliable installation. The role also includes field investigations, site visits, and participation in training. • Collect, compile, and analyze substation equipment and layout data per industry standards. • Produce physical layout designs (single‑line, three‑line, grounding, lightning protection) and protection & control schematics. • Perform electrical calculations (loads, equipment sizing, voltage drop, short‑circuit, coordination). • Write technical reports, risk assessments, and construction documentation. • Support senior engineers with research and specification of high‑voltage components. • Provide technical assistance on equipment sizing, cabling, panel layouts, and trenching designs. • Coordinate field investigations, site visits, and construction support activities. • Collaborate with project controls, procurement, permitting, and other cross‑functional teams.
