About the Role

The Project Principal Architect will lead single‑ or multidisciplinary teams throughout all phases of a project, from development and initiation to close‑out. This role is responsible for managing multiple concurrent projects of varying size and complexity, while establishing and nurturing client relationships and participating in marketing, contractual, design, and production meetings. Staffing, workload coordination, and timely delivery of project deliverables are essential, as is financial oversight to keep projects within budget and schedule. The principal will also implement QA/QC procedures, mentor junior project managers, and collaborate with accounting and business leadership for periodic reviews. • Lead and coordinate single‑ or multidisciplinary project teams from initiation through close‑out. • Manage multiple concurrent projects of varying size, visibility, and technical complexity. • Establish and maintain client relationships; engage in marketing, contractual, design, and production meetings. • Facilitate work sessions for deliverable development with staff and stakeholders. • Oversee staffing, workload distribution, and ensure timely completion of deliverables. • Track project financials and adjust effort to meet budget and schedule targets. • Conduct periodic project reviews with accounting, operations, and business leadership. • Implement quality assurance and quality control procedures. • Supervise large project staffs and mentor less‑experienced project managers.

What You Bring

Preferred qualifications include an interest in sustainable design and LEED, as well as PMP certification. Required credentials comprise a bachelor's degree in Architecture, licensure as a registered architect, at least 15 years of relevant experience, and a minimum of seven years managing large‑scale projects. Candidates must demonstrate strong leadership, communication, and mentoring abilities, be proficient with Microsoft Office tools, possess deep knowledge of the local and regional market, and be willing to travel. An attitude that embraces the employee‑owned culture is essential. • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture and registration as a licensed architect. • Minimum 15 years of related experience, including at least 7 years in project management on large‑scale projects. • Demonstrated ability to lead teams, deliver client presentations, and manage budgets and schedules. • Strong knowledge of the local and regional market; sustainable design/LEED experience preferred. • PMP certification preferred. • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Project). • Excellent written and verbal communication; strong leadership, mentoring, and organizational skills. • Willingness to travel and actively participate in the employee‑owned culture.
