Diesel Mechanic 2nd Shift Great Pay & Benefits!
Repair and maintain diesel trucks/equipment on 2nd shift at WM's Rockdale shop.
Job Highlights
About the Role
You’ll work stable Monday‑Friday (with occasional Saturday) shifts from 2:30 pm to 11:00 pm at our Rockdale, IL repair and maintenance shop, serving trucks and equipment that support over 20 million customers nationwide. • Inspect, diagnose and repair electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake and air systems on various vehicles and equipment • Estimate time and material costs for repairs and new parts • Perform work within Standard Labor Repair Times (SRTs) • Respond to emergency breakdown service calls • Conduct safety checks on vehicles • Complete paperwork documenting parts usage and repair times • Assist senior mechanics with project work • Review, complete or assign repairs from Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports • Maintain a clean, safe work area in compliance with OSHA and corporate standards

What You Bring
• Minimum 2 years relevant mechanic experience • Valid driver’s license with a clean record • Age 18 or older and legally authorized to work in the U.S. • Ability to meet physical demands with or without reasonable accommodations • Pass pre‑employment drug screen and physical examination • Comfortable working independently and collaboratively • Determined problem solver • Frequent lifting, pushing, pulling, crouching, climbing; constant standing, walking, grasping; occasional sitting and balancing • Regular exposure to cuts, burns, toxic chemicals, dirt, odors, noise, and extreme weather • Work performed both inside garage/shop and outdoors in inclement conditions
