About the Role

The position involves assisting with laboratory testing, drafting boring logs and location diagrams, scheduling drill rigs, obtaining utility clearances, supporting the subsurface exploration program, performing boring and test pit layouts using conventional surveying and GPS, classifying soil samples, operating hand augers for subsurface information, and observing foundation or ground improvement installations. • Assist with lab testing and draft boring logs and location diagrams. • Schedule drill rigs for geotechnical projects. • Obtain utility clearance for subsurface explorations. • Support subsurface exploration program and prepare drilling instructions. • Perform boring and test pit layouts using conventional surveying and GPS. • Classify soil samples. • Operate hand augers to collect subsurface information and soil samples. • Observe foundation or ground improvement installations. • Provide reliable transportation for job sites (mileage reimbursed).

What You Bring

Candidates should be actively pursuing a Bachelor or Master degree in Civil Engineering, Geology, or a related field, have a strong interest in how structures are supported, be able to provide their own transportation for job sites (mileage reimbursed), and be capable of repeatedly lifting 40–70 lb and occasionally 85 lb to waist height. • Pursuing a B.S. or M.S. in Civil Engineering, Geology, or a related discipline. • Demonstrate interest in structural support and innovative problem‑solving. • Able to lift 40–70 lb repeatedly and occasionally 85 lb to waist height.
