About the Role
The Senior Project Manager will lead Owner’s Authorized Representatives (OARs) on large commercial and public‑works projects, overseeing construction schedules, change orders, cost control, and dispute resolution. The role also involves coordinating with multiple district departments, reviewing contract administration for architects and consultants, and developing internal policies. • Resolve complex construction issues, disputes, and disagreements. • Develop, assign, and monitor performance of Owner’s Authorized Representatives (OARs). • Review project schedules and track progress against submitted construction timelines. • Assess change orders and evaluate their impact on budget and schedule. • Assist Regional Directors with bid preparation, contract planning, and specification reviews. • Monitor cost variances and maintain the construction project database for reporting. • Verify payment applications and manage fiscal responsibilities across multiple projects. • Provide direction on schedule control, cost management, contract administration, and quality assurance. • Coordinate program activities with district departments such as Environmental Health, Asset Management, and Maintenance. • Develop and recommend internal policies and procedures for project execution. • Manage large‑scale programs with individual project values exceeding $50 million.

What You Bring
Candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree in architecture, engineering, or construction management, or obtain a Certified Construction Manager (CCM) credential within one year. A minimum of 17 years of full‑time construction project management experience—including at least five years in educational facilities or public works—and experience managing programs with values over $50 million are required. Preferred qualifications include design‑build experience, proficiency with Building Information Modeling (BIM), involvement in LEED or CHPS certified projects, and familiarity with Division of the State Architect (DSA) processes. Holding a California architect or professional engineer registration is also advantageous. • Hold a bachelor’s degree in AEC fields or obtain CCM credential within one year of hire. • Possess at least 17 years of construction management experience, including 5 years in educational or public‑works projects. • Preferred: design‑build experience, BIM proficiency, LEED/CHPS project involvement, DSA process knowledge. • Preferred: California architectural or professional engineering registration.
