About the Role

With direct supervision from a Lead Technician, Maintenance Supervisor, or Maintenance Manager, a Maintenance Technician B performs repair and maintenance on diesel and non‑diesel equipment, including chassis components, vehicle refuse bodies, hydraulic and electrical systems, air brakes, engines, HVAC, suspension, drivetrain, and steering. The role also includes basic tire work such as replacement, rotation, and tread‑depth checks, and offers training on new technologies while providing a stable shift with competitive wages. Technicians work both on‑site and on the road, delivering safe road service to return equipment to operation efficiently. They use electronic diagnostic tools to identify malfunctions, complete required company training programs, and may perform line‑maintenance welding and fabrication as needed. • Perform chassis component repair and maintenance. • Service refuse bodies, including control, hydraulic, electrical, air and hydraulic brake systems. • Conduct engine repair and general maintenance. • Maintain suspension, drivetrain, and steering systems. • Service heating, ventilation, and air‑conditioning components. • Execute line‑maintenance welding and fabrication tasks. • Provide road service to return equipment to safe operation. • Diagnose malfunctions using electronic diagnostic tools. • Complete required company training programs. • Perform basic tire work such as replacement, rotation, and tread‑depth checks.

What You Bring

The position requires a valid driver’s license, at least one year of experience diagnosing and repairing gasoline and diesel equipment or recent graduation from an accredited automotive program, and a basic understanding of work‑order labor standards. ASE certifications and a commercial driver’s license are advantageous but not required. • Minimum 1 year of experience diagnosing and repairing gasoline and diesel equipment or graduating from an accredited automotive college within 3 months. • Ability to inspect and service heavy‑truck systems (suspension, steering, engine, transmission, brakes, electrical, hydraulics, drivetrain, diesel emissions) with limited supervision. • Basic understanding of work‑order labor time standards. • Valid driver’s license; commercial driver’s license is a plus. • ASE certifications (T1‑T8) are a plus.
