About the Role

The Landfill Gas Technician reports to the Gas Operations Manager and oversees the operation and maintenance of the landfill gas collection and control system (GCCS). The system includes extraction wells, piping, and gas conveyance equipment that transports landfill gas to a flare for combustion, ensuring compliance with state and federal environmental regulations. The technician calibrates and operates electronic data collection devices, gathers and manages data from wellfield extraction and environmental monitoring sites, and implements the preventative maintenance plan for the GCCS. They also service liquid management pumps, adjust wellfield valves, perform piping maintenance using PVC or HDPE materials, and remain on call for system malfunctions. • Operate, calibrate, and maintain GCCS electronic data collection devices. • Collect, enter, and interpret data from wellfield extraction and environmental monitoring locations. • Execute the GCCS preventative maintenance plan, including pump and valve adjustments. • Service liquid‑management pneumatic or electric pumps and monitor liquid levels in containment structures. • Perform PVC/HDPE piping repairs and maintenance throughout the wellfield. • Respond on‑call to GCCS malfunctions and adhere to health‑ and safety procedures.

What You Bring

A valid unrestricted driver's license is required, and candidates should have mechanical aptitude, experience with gas collection systems, pumps, blowers, and data logging, as well as the ability to work independently in field conditions. The role involves both indoor gas plant work and outdoor tasks in inclement weather, requiring physical stamina and adherence to safety procedures.
