About the Role
The foreman works safely on both energized and de‑energized lines, leading and coaching crew members while ensuring compliance with safety procedures. Responsibilities include conducting pre‑job briefings, performing hot‑stick work, and supervising troubleshooting of primary and secondary systems. Core line‑work tasks involve stringing overhead wire, setting poles and anchors, and installing equipment such as transformers, arrestors, cutouts, crossarms, insulators, switches, and switchgear. The foreman also plans safe work based on job prints, obtains one‑shot clearances, phases circuits, and executes reconductoring and mechanical jumper installations. • Perform new construction, maintenance, and repair on energized and de‑energized transmission lines. • Lead, coach, and train crew members in safe work practices and hot‑stick procedures. • Conduct pre‑job and tailgate safety briefings. • String overhead wire, set poles and anchors, and install transformers, neurising arrestors, cutouts, crossarms, insulators, switches, and switchgear. • Troubleshoot and supervise primary and secondary electrical systems, including replacing cutout fuses and clearing faulted circuits. • Plan and execute safe work based on job prints or work orders, including reconductoring and mechanical jumper installation. • Obtain one‑shot clearances on reclosers and perform line phasing using phasing sticks. • Identify and set up puller and tensioner equipment, properly sag wire, and phase circuits through substations. • Apply grounding, flag, and tag procedures, and use load‑bust tools safely. • Maintain company vehicles, equipment, and PPE in good condition. • Travel long distances on short notice and work extended periods at varied locations. • Complete required company paperwork and adhere to all safety policies.

What You Bring
The Foreman position is a skilled role responsible for the construction, maintenance, and repair of electrical transmission systems. Minimum qualifications include 5–10 years of experience, a valid CDL, ability to lift over 50 lb, and willingness to travel long distances on short notice. The role requires compliance with company reporting procedures, overtime availability, and the ability to work outside normal schedules, including weekends and holidays. The position demands regular physical activity, exposure to outdoor weather, noise, fumes, and vibration, and the ability to work at heights or in confined spaces.
