About the Role
The Driver‑CDL (B) operates a collection truck safely while providing prompt, courteous, and complete waste removal services. The driver must ensure the vehicle meets the company’s safety standards before each shift, adhere to all company, state, and federal regulations, and complete daily vehicle condition reports to address any defects promptly. Key duties include performing thorough pre‑ and post‑operation inspections of tire pressure, fluid levels, safety equipment, gauges, and controls, and reporting any safety issues. While on the assigned route, the driver reads the route sheet, follows maps, lifts and loads refuse, operates the compactor, and disposes of material at the designated facility, all in compliance with safety policies. The driver interacts courteously with customers, dispatchers, and coworkers to ensure timely service, tags unsatisfactory waste containers, monitors waste for prohibited materials, cleans accidental spills, and keeps the truck clean by removing waste from the packer blade and body. Required documentation such as route/productivity sheets, VCRs, and other reports are completed accurately, and the driver meets departmental productivity standards while participating in the company’s ReSOP program.
