About the Role
• Support safety culture and mentor for injury‑free environment. • Coordinate technology design and construction to meet constructability, quality, financial, and technical standards. • Provide technical expertise for design assist, installation, and network integration. • Create project‑specific technology scopes and responsibility matrices. • Perform quantity takeoffs and obtain vendor pricing for accurate budgets and bids. • Manage project budgets, costs, and financial projections. • Develop, disseminate, and enforce Aptitude processes and standards. • Lead, coach, and motivate team members aligned with strategic objectives and core values. • Deploy Aptitude strategies to achieve financial, quality, and performance goals. • Participate in company communication programs to enhance marketing and delivery of technology services. • Oversee budgets, schedules, staffing, billing, and collections for assigned projects. • Develop and manage project plans and schedules to meet scope, timeline, cost, and quality targets. • Track and report progress on project milestones to stakeholders. • Communicate, track, and resolve issues promptly throughout the project lifecycle. • Define performance metrics and conduct post‑project evaluations. • Ensure proper management and archiving of all project documents. • Manage technology consulting between JE Dunn and client/owner consultants and contractors. • Initiate business development activities to grow Aptitude contributions. • Support JE Dunn project pursuits to maximize value‑added technology benefits. • Identify and develop new technologies for the Smart Building offering. • Facilitate internal and external training to raise awareness of Aptitude services. • Maintain professional knowledge through workshops, publications, networking, and societies. • Engage local civic and municipal organizations to position Aptitude as an industry differentiator. • Recruit, orient, and train staff to sustain and grow the team. • Deliver effective presentations. • Develop project proposals, fees, and work plans. • Build collaborative relationships internally and externally. • Manage budgets, maximize profitability, and generate future work. • Foster lasting relationships with team members beyond individual projects.

The Aptitude Project Manager 2 will lead constructability reviews, conceptual estimating, bid pricing, change management and coordination of technology scopes on selected projects. As a subject‑matter expert, the role demands strong leadership, communication and project‑management skills to integrate technology solutions while upholding JE Dunn’s strategy, vision and values. Decisions are made within defined authority limits, with consultation on broader matters. The career path progresses to Senior Aptitude Project Manager. Candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree in construction management, IT or a related field, or possess equivalent experience, and have at least eight years of experience in IT/Security/Life Safety systems plus five years of project‑management experience. The position requires a valid unrestricted driver’s license, the ability to lift 25 lb, and may involve travel, relocation, non‑traditional hours and exposure to extreme temperatures. Work locations include project sites and office settings; activities range from frequent sitting at a computer to occasional standing, walking and climbing. • Perform work accurately, completely, and timely. • Communicate effectively verbally and in writing (intermediate level). • Use MS Office proficiently (intermediate). • Exhibit strong self‑starter attitude with follow‑through. • Understand project processes and their role in successful completion. • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience). • 8+ years in IT/Security/Life Safety systems. • 5+ years of project management experience. • Valid unrestricted driver’s license. • Ability to lift up to 25 lb; occasional travel or relocation. • Frequent sitting and computer use; occasional standing, walking, bending, climbing, reaching, pushing, pulling.
