About the Role
The Carpenter Helper supports skilled carpenters and carpenters foremen by performing a range of supportive duties under direct supervision. The role requires a general understanding of carpentry techniques and the safe use of hand and power tools. The helper assists in designing, constructing, erecting, installing, and repairing wood, plywood, and wallboard structures. Work may take place in a plant operations environment or on construction job sites, and safety awareness is essential. The helper aids the carpenter in laying out work and in the handling of materials, including lifting, positioning, securing, and cutting during installations. Work areas, machines, and equipment are kept clean, and necessary materials are stocked to maintain workflow. The helper also provides assistance to other craft workers as needed, looking for opportunities to improve methods and learn from experienced staff. • Assist Carpenter in laying out work • Assist Carpenter with lifting, positioning, securing, and cutting of materials during installation • Clean work areas, machines, and equipment • Ensure work area remains stocked with necessary materials • Assist other craft workers as needed • Climb and maintain balance on steel/wood frameworks, ladders, and scaffolds

What You Bring
Physical requirements include the ability to push, pull, lift or carry up to 50 lb regularly and up to 100 lb occasionally, as well as to perform repetitive hand and arm motions, climb ladders or scaffolds, and work in varied conditions such as uneven terrain, mud, or adverse weather. The helper must operate hand and power tools safely with proper training, maintain balance on steel or wood frameworks, and be capable of prolonged bending, kneeling, and reaching. Mentally, the role demands effective communication with supervisors, the ability to concentrate amid distractions, sound decision‑making, and strong attention to detail. • Lift or carry up to 50 lb regularly and up to 100 lb occasionally • Operate hand and power tools (electric, gas, pneumatic) with proper training • Communicate effectively with management and supervision
