About the Role
Internships in Carrier’s Strategic Sourcing department may involve any of the responsibilities listed below and include participation in meetings and discussions that provide learning experiences. The intern will assist with project management, data analytics, operational execution, and contract document management, gaining insight into sourcing, negotiating, managing, and maintaining an extensive contract portfolio across a diverse supplier base. This role is designed for growth, with the possibility of returning for subsequent internships. The Summer 2026 cohort runs from May 18 to August 14, 2026, and is located in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Key responsibilities include collaborating with cross‑functional teams—sales, scheduling, production, customer service, quality, sourcing, finance, shipping/receiving, and engineering—to ensure effective supply‑chain operations. Interns will manage assigned commodities by planning, procuring, and expediting components to meet sales and production schedules, while maintaining optimal inventory levels and on‑time delivery through accurate purchase orders and schedule agreements. They will analyze MRP and SAP data, generate reports, and conduct root‑cause analysis to support inventory goals and supplier performance. Additional duties involve resolving accounts‑payable issues, addressing supplier quality concerns, coordinating returns of defective materials, and supporting management on assigned projects. • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to ensure effective supply‑chain operations. • Plan, procure, and expedite assigned commodities to meet sales and production schedules. • Maintain optimal inventory levels and ensure on‑time delivery via accurate purchase orders. • Analyze MRP and SAP data, generate reports, and perform root‑cause analysis for inventory and supplier performance. • Resolve accounts‑payable issues to ensure timely supplier payments. • Address supplier quality concerns and coordinate returns of defective materials. • Support management on assigned projects as needed.

What You Bring
Required qualifications are a pursuit of a Bachelor’s degree in supply‑chain management, business, engineering, or operations with a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher, and the candidate must be a U.S. citizen or otherwise eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship. Preferred qualifications include proficiency in Microsoft Office—especially Excel—excellent decision‑making, problem‑solving, and communication skills, and a detail‑oriented, organized approach that thrives in a fast‑paced environment. Candidates should also be self‑motivated, results‑focused, and capable of working both independently and collaboratively within teams. • Pursue a Bachelor’s degree in supply‑chain management, business, engineering, or operations with a GPA of 3.0 or higher. • Be a U.S. citizen or eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship. • Demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel. • Exhibit strong decision‑making, problem‑solving, and communication skills. • Show detail‑orientation, organization, and the ability to thrive in a fast‑paced environment. • Be self‑motivated, results‑focused, and capable of independent and team work.

Benefits
