What You Bring
The apprenticeship spans four years and includes work‑based placements across multiple engineering functions at the Telford site, providing hands‑on experience in the company's operations. Schneider Electric looks for motivated individuals with strong communication skills and the ability to solve problems, with additional software familiarity being beneficial. Applicants need a minimum of five GCSEs (or Level 2) at grade 4/C, covering English, Maths and a science or technical subject. No prior work experience is required, though a genuine interest in engineering is essential. Visa sponsorship is not available for this apprenticeship and certain visa categories may not qualify for funding. • Off‑the‑job training delivered by Shrewsbury College, covering at least 20 % of work time (≈6 hours/week). • Essential attributes: self‑motivated, resourceful, flexible, strong written and verbal communication, ability to work in a team or independently, analytical problem‑solving. • Desirable skill: proficiency with Microsoft Office 365. • Minimum qualification: 5 GCSEs (or Level 2) grade 4/C, including English, Maths and a Science/Technology/Engineering subject. • No prior experience required; a demonstrable interest in engineering is sufficient.

The Technical Engineering Apprentice role is located on‑site in Telford and is part of Schneider Electric’s UK Level 3 Advanced Apprenticeship Programme. It offers a £20,000 salary and aims to develop future engineers who will design and implement solutions for smart buildings. Training combines on‑the‑job learning with an external provider, ensuring apprentices receive both practical mentorship and formal instruction, with protected time allocated each week for off‑the‑job study.
