About the Role

The Saint Louis Construction Inspection Intern supports a Senior Inspector on civil‑infrastructure projects such as roads, bridges, and water facilities. The role provides practical experience in field observation, material testing, and documentation while working outdoors in varied conditions throughout the Saint Louis metro area and remote sites. • Assist inspector with on‑site observations and documentation of construction progress for civil infrastructure projects. • Monitor, record, and inspect construction activities, including material sampling and testing (concrete slump, air content, soil compaction). • Perform measurements, calculations, and layout checks using tape measures, rules, and other instruments. • Read and interpret construction drawings and specifications, identifying discrepancies. • Compile daily logs detailing work activities, personnel, equipment, weather, and test results. • Enter project data into computer programs and complete additional assigned duties. • Navigate outdoor sites, climb ladders/scaffolding, and lift equipment in all seasons.

What You Bring

• Work as part of a team while currently enrolled in a technical school or pursuing an Associate’s degree (preferred). • Demonstrate prior construction inspection experience and the ability to interpret construction schedules. • Hold OSHA 10‑hour certification and possess strong interpersonal skills. • Possess Department of Transportation technician testing certifications (preferred). • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate engineering program (required). • Exhibit attention to detail, strong problem‑solving and communication abilities. • Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office.
