About the Role

In this position, the Trimmer A supports the crew by applying advanced pruning methods, working near energized utilities, and handling tree‑care equipment such as bucket trucks and chainsaws. The employee also mentors less experienced team members and contributes to emergency storm‑restoration projects when needed. • Prioritize safety and promote a safety‑conscious work environment. • Apply proper natural and directional pruning techniques, including emergency restorations. • Meet all requirements for lower climber classifications. • Climb trees near energized lines and perform maintenance tasks, excluding the most difficult ones. • Safely remove overhangs with assistance and prune around open wire secondary and primary conductors. • Remove trees, prune limbs, and rope sections around energized conductors, using bucket trucks when needed. • Assist in on‑the‑job training of less experienced climbers and bucket operators. • Operate and maintain tree‑care equipment such as bucket trucks, chainsaws, and chippers. • Participate in storm restoration efforts as required. • Properly inspect and use personal protective equipment (PPE). • Maintain company vehicles, equipment and tools in good condition. • Follow proper use and maintenance of hand tools and company radio. • Comply with safety rules and company policies.

What You Bring

The Trimmer A is a highly skilled climber and tree‑trimmer who has consistently excelled in lower‑level positions. This role requires precise execution of climbing techniques and rigging for pruning and removal tasks, while maintaining a strong focus on safety. Experience operating aerial lifts is beneficial but not mandatory. Candidates must have at least three years of relevant experience, be able to read and communicate effectively in English, and possess a valid driver’s license (a commercial license is strongly preferred). A high school diploma or equivalent, the ability to lift over 50 lb, and willingness to travel on short notice are also required. The role involves frequent physical activity, including standing, walking, climbing, and handling weights up to or exceeding 50 lb, often in varying weather conditions. Workers must be comfortable operating in loud, dusty environments and may be exposed to fumes, vibration, and extreme temperatures. • Exercise good judgment and logical decision‑making in daily work. • Minimum 3 + years relevant experience. • Ability to read, write and communicate effectively in English; bilingual Spanish/English is a plus. • Valid driver’s license; Commercial Driver’s License strongly preferred. • High school diploma or equivalent. • Ability to lift over 50 lb, perform rigorous physical labor and work at heights or confined spaces. • Willingness to travel long distances on short notice and work extended periods in various locations. • Availability for overtime and ability to work in inclement weather. • Good work ethic and punctuality. • Customer‑service focused with excellent communication skills. • Punctual and reliable.
