About the Role

The Driver – CDL (B) is responsible for safely operating a collection truck and providing prompt, courteous waste removal services while ensuring the vehicle complies with company safety standards and all applicable regulations. Key duties include conducting thorough pre‑ and post‑operation inspections, operating the truck and its controls to lift, load, and compact refuse, and disposing of the material at designated facilities. The driver must interact professionally with customers and dispatchers, monitor waste for prohibited items, manage spills safely, and keep the vehicle clean to reduce downtime. Accurate completion of route productivity sheets, vehicle condition reports, and other required documentation is essential, as is adherence to productivity standards and participation in safety programs. • Perform complete pre‑ and post‑operation vehicle inspections and report safety issues. • Operate the collection truck safely along assigned routes, load refuse, operate the compactor, and dispose of material at the designated facility. • Interact courteously with customers, dispatchers, and coworkers while ensuring timely service. • Identify and tag unsatisfactory waste containers and monitor waste for prohibited materials. • Clean accidental waste spills and maintain vehicle cleanliness to minimize downtime. • Complete route productivity sheets, vehicle condition reports (VCRs), and other required documentation. • Adhere to company productivity standards, safety policies, and participate in the ReSOP program.
