About the Role

Within HDR’s Industrial sector, teams shape efficient, advanced infrastructure and promote environmental stewardship by partnering with clients to responsibly optimize processes, modernize facilities, and solve complex challenges across the full project life cycle—from evaluation and planning through design, construction monitoring, and operations. • Lead strategic growth to increase HDR’s global market share and revenue in the industrial sector. • Build and maintain trusted advisor relationships with key industrial clients. • Drive business development by leading major pursuits, creating winning strategies, and guiding proposal efforts. • Shape market strategy in collaboration with regional leadership and operations. • Mentor and train teams to develop business development skills and a client‑focused culture. • Align talent and expertise with client needs, partnering with operational leaders. • Achieve global booking targets and manage regional business development leaders. • Monitor industrial market trends and develop long‑term strategic plans and growth initiatives. • Lead cross‑market strategic initiatives within the Resources Business Group. • Oversee capture planning and win‑strategy development for major pursuits. • Identify and recruit talent for management, technical, business development, and marketing roles. • Develop training programs on business development and marketing best practices. • Create and execute major client plans to capture market share. • Serve as client manager for significant industrial accounts, maintaining deep client insights. • Build relationships with teaming partners and represent HDR in professional associations.

What You Bring

HDR is seeking an Industrial Sector Business Development Director who will act as a strategic leader to drive innovation and resource management, spearheading client engagement, business development, and growth across a dynamic industrial landscape. • Preferred qualifications: bachelor's degree, professional/engineering registration, proven success winning high‑value industrial contracts. • Required qualifications: 15+ years industry experience, self‑starter, A/E/C procurement knowledge, leadership, networking, sales and win‑strategy expertise, financial acumen, strong communication, Microsoft Office proficiency, willingness to travel, experience growing programs in competitive markets.
