About the Role

The incumbent will lead the SPO unit and its hourly trade staff, driving operational excellence, safety, and integration with the broader business unit. The position requires strategic planning, financial oversight, risk management, and collaboration with pre‑construction, HR, and senior leadership to support prime projects and client objectives. • Lead and manage the Self‑Perform Operations (SPO) unit and staff. • Integrate Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) and Building L.I.F.E. principles to achieve zero incidents. • Develop SPO business and contingency plans aligned with the overall BU strategy. • Create and implement an annual profit plan in coordination with the General Manager. • Ensure compliance with safety, ethics, and regulatory requirements across SPO projects. • Build internal networks to capture opportunities for SPO on BU prime projects. • Coordinate with BU Preconstruction to leverage SPO trade expertise on prime projects. • Promote the “One Turner” philosophy for communication, collaboration, and support. • Share SPO updates through newsletters, good news, and employee spotlights. • Partner with HR to design progression and succession strategies for SPO staff. • Deliver performance evaluations and career development plans for the team. • Lead risk evaluation, contract negotiations, fee and pricing decisions, advising the GM. • Drive operational excellence for each SPO opportunity. • Establish procedures to protect financial assets and oversee financial reporting and risk reporting. • Manage physical asset protection, capital procurement, and liquidation processes. • Plan, forecast, and manage general and administrative (G&A) expenses for SPO. • Participate in community and professional organizations with senior staff support. • Implement Turner tools and processes (e.g., SAP, T4, Profit Plan, Lean, BIM) within SPO.

What You Bring

The role is based in Denver, CO and is a regular, salaried exempt position within the Self‑Perform Operations (SPO) division of Turner. It reports to the Business Unit leadership and is classified as an experienced construction professional. • Bachelor’s degree in a related field and at least 10 years of building construction experience, or equivalent. • Deep understanding of the commercial construction industry and relevant markets. • In‑depth knowledge of SPO scopes of work and trade operations. • Demonstrated leadership ability to set and execute strategic plans. • Proven management experience with strong interpersonal and relationship‑building skills. • Excellent verbal and written communication capabilities. • Active involvement in construction industry professional organizations. • Ability to meet the physical demands of construction site work.
