About the Role
The Assistant Project Manager supports the Project Manager by providing technical and administrative direction, supervising project design teams, and ensuring profitability and client satisfaction. Responsibilities include managing project budgets, preparing technical proposals and invoices, supervising staff, and scheduling key project activities. The role involves working closely with senior management and office staff to deliver civil engineering projects on time and within budget, using AutoCAD and related software. • Manage civil engineering design for land development plans, stormwater management, water and sanitary sewer, and soil erosion and sediment control. • Oversee multiple projects and competing deadlines. • Perform quality control on project deliverables. • Handle regulatory agency permitting processes. • Prepare proposal scopes and budget estimates. • Manage financial tasks including invoice preparation and accounts receivable. • Develop and maintain project schedules. • Manage client relationships and communication. • Mentor and train junior staff members.

What You Bring
Colliers Engineering & Design, Inc. is seeking an Assistant Project Manager for its Cary, NC office. The position requires a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, a North Carolina PE license, and five years of civil engineering experience using AutoCAD and Civil 3D. Candidates must have at least three years of experience with Flow Master, Culvert Master, TR‑20, ArcGIS, as well as project estimating and scheduling, and one year of experience with MicroStation, storm sewers, Hydroflow, Microsoft Excel, and GanttPro.
