About the Role
The Engineering Specifications Consultant role is based in the Greater Boston area and focuses on providing technical expertise to MEP firms, design/build contractors, and other specifiers. The consultant works closely with internal and external stakeholders to develop and maintain relationships, ensuring Viega products are included in project specifications. This position supports regional business objectives through collaboration with field sales teams. The consultant builds long‑term relationships with engineers, architects, contractors, EPCs, builders, and government agencies to achieve inclusion of Viega products in master specifications. They execute account strategies, develop strategic plans for key accounts, and deliver professional presentations to a variety of stakeholders to drive market growth. Collaboration is a key part of the role; the consultant works with customers, partners, sales, and product engineering teams to understand product requirements and align solutions. They help revise existing specifications, recommend changes, and provide technical support to internal teams for engineering guides and specification development. • Build and maintain long‑term relationships with MEP engineers, architects, contractors, EPCs, builders, and agencies to ensure Viega product inclusion in specifications. • Execute account strategies and develop strategic plans for key accounts to exceed revenue, profitability, and customer‑satisfaction goals. • Deliver professional presentations to engineers, architects, developers, facility engineers, plant managers, code officials, educators, and design/build contractors. • Collaborate with external customers, partners, sales, and product engineering teams to align solutions with customer requirements. • Revise existing specifications and assist in developing new ones, recommending changes to support product integration. • Provide technical support to internal stakeholders for engineering guide and specification development. • Initiate new customer engagements, schedule regular visits, and identify new business opportunities. • Travel up to 70 % to provide in‑person support, attend meetings, and liaise with code officials and inspectors. • Maintain and update Salesforce and engineering guide specification database with accurate records. • Report field activity, specification inclusion, competitor insights, forecasts, industry trends, and business metrics to management. • Participate in local societies (e.g., ASPE, ASHRAE) to promote Viega products and technologies.

What You Bring
The position requires frequent travel—up to 70 %—including visits to customer sites, meetings with code officials, and participation in local societies such as ASPE and ASHRAE. The consultant maintains accurate records in Salesforce and reports on field activity, specification inclusion, market trends, and business metrics. Candidates should have a bachelor’s degree in mechanical, industrial, or civil engineering (or equivalent experience), 3‑5 years of industry experience, and a valid driver’s license. Required skills include strong communication, interpersonal, organizational, and strategic‑selling abilities, as well as proficiency with Microsoft Office, CRM tools, and understanding of codes, standards, and specifications. • Possess a bachelor’s degree in mechanical, industrial, or civil engineering (or equivalent experience) and 3‑5 years of industry experience. • Demonstrate strong written and verbal communication, interpersonal, and strategic‑selling skills. • Proficient with Microsoft Office, CRM tools, and understanding of codes, standards, and specifications. • Ability to calculate unit conversions, percentages, area, and volume accurately.
