About the Role
The role is a pivotal leadership position within Carrier’s accounting organization, responsible for the integrity, accuracy, and compliance of financial operations across a dynamic business unit. It ensures alignment with US GAAP, SOX requirements, and internal control frameworks while providing timely financial insights to senior leadership. The incumbent will guide a team of accounting professionals, fostering operational excellence and continuous improvement. Key responsibilities include leading multiple teams, managing large‑scale projects, and ensuring timely general ledger preparation, project/government accounting, and accurate consolidations. The role oversees period‑end close, compliance activities, and the development of policies and controls to protect company assets. It also directs the preparation of management reports, resolves complex accounting issues, and develops standards for strategic decision‑making. • Lead multiple accounting teams and oversee large‑scale projects across the business unit. • Ensure timely general ledger preparation, project/government accounting, consolidations, and period‑end close in compliance with US GAAP and SOX. • Develop and enforce policies, internal controls, and governance to protect company assets. • Prepare and present accurate management and corporate financial reports for senior leadership. • Guide staff on complex accounting issues and drive continuous process improvement.

What You Bring
Basic qualifications require a bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or business administration, along with 8+ years of progressive accounting experience in a corporate setting. Candidates must have 8+ years applying US GAAP, 6+ years interpreting complex transactions, 5+ years designing and testing SOX controls, and 5+ years of team or cross‑functional project leadership. Advanced Excel proficiency (pivot tables, complex formulas, macros) is also required. Preferred qualifications include a master’s degree in accounting or finance, CPA or CMA certification, and 3+ years of experience with SAP S/4HANA or Oracle JDE. Demonstrated success communicating with senior leaders and presenting financial information clearly is highly valued. • Hold a bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related field and 8+ years of progressive accounting experience. • Demonstrate 6+ years of hands‑on US GAAP application and 5+ years designing and testing SOX controls. • Possess advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, complex formulas, macros) and 5+ years of team leadership. • Preferred: master’s degree, CPA or CMA certification, and experience with SAP S/4HANA or Oracle JDE.

The annual salary range for this position is $146,750–$205,250, with compensation determined by skills, education, experience, and other qualifications.
