About the Role
The Operations Manager oversees onboarding, development, coaching, mentoring, and performance management of drivers and helpers. The ideal candidate brings three or more years of people‑management experience, a background in transportation and logistics, and a proven ability to coach staff. This role supervises a staff of 28 drivers and supports daily frontline operations. • Equip new frontline employees with tools, instruction, and feedback for daily tasks. • Meet with new employees each day to maintain consistent communication and onboarding support. • Provide regular touchpoints and review best practices to enhance performance. • Support employees’ career goals and identify improvement opportunities through coaching. • Model safety practices, teach the WM Way, and conduct root‑cause investigations for injuries and incidents. • Maintain regulatory documentation required by the Department of Transportation. • Review and audit daily route documentation (DVIRs, time‑and‑attendance, open tickets) and follow up as needed. • Visit customers and site locations to assess and resolve safety issues and explore service alternatives.

What You Bring
Work hours are Monday‑Friday from 7:00 am until close (5‑6 pm) with rotating Saturday shifts. Managers must be flexible to cover opening or closing shifts and work weekends after holidays to meet operational needs. • Required qualifications: associate’s degree (or high school diploma with two years relevant experience), at least 18 years old, legally authorized to work, and a valid driver’s license. • Preferred qualification: successful completion of the WM Operations Manager Trainee program.

Benefits
