About the Role

The Design Engineer – Transmission Line will join QISG’s transmission team to design, construct, maintain, and upgrade high‑voltage transmission lines, applying both traditional methods and innovative technologies to provide reliable, cost‑effective power delivery. • Lead overhead transmission line design, including PLS‑CADD modeling, line routing, and structure analysis. • Produce scaled drawings and maps using AutoCAD, MicroStation, ArcGIS, and related CAD software. • Perform engineering calculations such as sag‑tension, voltage drop, cable pulling, flicker analysis, and pole loading. • Prepare joint utility use authorizations and ensure compliance with NESC, IEEE, ANSI, and IBC codes. • Conduct quality reviews, identify inaccuracies, and recommend corrective actions. • Collaborate with engineers and project teams to develop design modifications and maintain detailed documentation. • Work a standard 40‑hour week with potential overtime up to 50 hours.

What You Bring

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an ABET‑accredited program. • Minimum of two years experience designing high‑voltage overhead transmission facilities. • Proficiency in AutoCAD, MicroStation, ArcGIS, and power‑distribution software such as PLS‑POLE, TOWER, SAG10, LPILE, or MFAD. • Familiarity with design standards NESC, IEEE, ANSI, and IBC. • Ability to travel up to 10 % of the time.
