About the Role
The Senior Project Engineer leads the design of high‑voltage infrastructure projects, overseeing detailed design work and supporting EPC proposals. The role requires a strong civil, mechanical, or electrical engineering background with extensive experience on high‑voltage substations or transmission line projects, allowing the engineer to act as a single point of contact throughout the project lifecycle. This position involves travel up to 10‑25 % of the time to meet job responsibilities, including site visits, stakeholder meetings, and coordination with government agencies and contractors. • Oversee project lifecycle from planning and design through permitting, construction support, and closeout. • Review engineering calculations, drawings, and specifications for electrical substations or transmission lines. • Ensure projects remain on budget and schedule while delivering cost‑effective solutions. • Verify compliance with local, state, federal, environmental, and safety regulations and standards. • Coordinate with government agencies, contractors, and the public to secure successful project delivery. • Manage quality‑control procedures to maintain high workmanship and material standards. • Prepare and maintain detailed project status reports, engineering documentation, and records.

What You Bring
• Minimum of 8 years of electric utility engineering experience on high‑voltage substation or transmission line projects. • Hold a B.S. or graduate degree in engineering from an ABET‑accredited university and a professional engineer (P.E.) license. • Demonstrate strong technical expertise in structural, civil, electrical, or mechanical engineering and knowledge of industry codes (ANSI, ASTM, ACI, AISC, IEEE, NEC, NESC). • Exhibit excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills for effective collaboration with internal teams, clients, and external partners. • Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and navigate ambiguity in a complex environment.
