About the Role
The MEP Field Lead is responsible for directing and coordinating all mechanical and electrical field activities to meet schedule, safety, budget, and quality targets as defined in the contract documents. The role requires occasional physical tasks such as climbing ladders, lifting up to 50 lb, and working in typical construction site conditions with exposure to noise, weather, and potential hazards. • Act as liaison with engineers, design consultants, subcontractors, suppliers, inspectors, owner's representatives, and other Turner staff to resolve MEP issues. • Develop comprehensive schedules covering engineering, coordination, installation, start‑up, testing, commissioning, and turnover phases. • Create and use tools to regularly monitor work progress against the project schedule. • Evaluate and approve subcontractor monthly payment requisitions, understanding remaining funds and manpower needs. • Provide mentorship and guidance to subordinates as the MEP team leader. • Identify logistical or field issues for the MEP Coordination team and propose pre‑planned solutions. • Prepare scope‑of‑work documents for trades, including responsibilities and temporary operations. • Ensure all work conforms to contract documents and approved submittals through communication with the MEP Engineer. • Pre‑plan field activities to ready areas for work and control manpower allocations according to project priorities. • Resolve conflicts between mechanical, electrical, and other trade systems. • Co‑lead the turnover process with the MEP Engineer, managing start‑up, testing, commissioning, closeout, and handover. • Communicate difficult installation requirements to field staff in advance for proper planning. • Co‑develop and implement the quality control plan with the MEP Engineer.

What You Bring
Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and have at least four years of relevant experience, demonstrating technical expertise in mechanical and electrical systems, strong business acumen, and proven leadership abilities. • Physical demands include occasional climbing of stairs and ladders, lifting up to 50 lb, and specific vision requirements such as close, peripheral, depth perception, and focus adjustment. • Work environment includes exposure to moving mechanical parts, heights, fumes, weather conditions, risk of electrical shock, and noise levels ranging from moderate to very loud.
