Applicants must be Canadian citizens or Nova Scotia permanent residents enrolled in an eligible program, and selection is based on financial need, leadership, community service, extracurricular involvement, academic standing, and responses to structured questions. To apply, candidates must submit an online application including a resume, high‑school or unofficial university transcript, answers to the structured questions, and a budget template; a selection committee will review submissions and may conduct interviews. • Eligible study areas include Power Engineering, Power Line Technician, Instrumentation Tech, Engineering, Technology, Business, Marketing & Communications, Environmental Sciences, and Law. • Past recipients can re‑apply each year for up to four years while still enrolled. • Application documents: resume, high‑school transcript (grades 10‑12) or unofficial university transcript, structured question responses, and budget template.

The Emerging Leader Scholarships provide four non‑renewable $2,500 awards each year to full‑time post‑secondary students in fields such as Power Engineering, Instrumentation Technology, Business, Marketing, Environmental Sciences, or Law, with the possibility of a 12‑week paid internship. • Four awards of $2,500 each, non‑renewable, available annually. • Recipients may be invited to a 12‑week paid internship with Nova Scotia Power. • Scholarship cannot be combined with other Nova Scotia Power scholarships and is not for graduate studies.
