About the Role
The Yard Equipment Specialist (YES) is a hybrid, customer‑obsession role that serves as the front line of contact with customers. The position ensures an outstanding customer experience by handling yard organization, equipment staging, contract administration, local non‑CDL deliveries, and by understanding and fulfilling equipment needs while maintaining a positive, professional attitude. Key duties include visually inspecting equipment before rental and on returns, noting any damage or loss, and returning items to the proper yard location. The specialist maintains daily housekeeping of the Express Rental area, determines customer equipment requirements, suggests alternatives, negotiates pricing and volume, places orders, secures equipment availability, and administers rental contracts and associated paperwork. Additional responsibilities involve handling customer complaints, logging calls, adhering to standard operating procedures, and complying with Sunbelt safety policies. • Inspect equipment before rental and on returns, documenting any damage or loss. • Maintain daily housekeeping of the Express Rental area, warehouse, and exterior premises. • Assess customer equipment needs, recommend alternatives, and negotiate price and volume. • Create and process rental orders, verify credit, and handle cash rentals with required deposits. • Coordinate equipment availability with shop, dispatch, and service departments. • Administer rental contracts, including amendments, suspensions, terminations, and invoicing. • Resolve customer complaints professionally and log call details. • Follow standard operating procedures and Sunbelt safety policies at all times.

What You Bring
Candidates must have a high school diploma or GED and a valid driver’s license, along with familiarity with construction and industrial tools. Prior equipment‑rental experience, strong customer service and telephone skills, solid computer and administrative abilities, and successful completion of the DOT qualification process are preferred. Bilingual abilities (Spanish or other) may be advantageous in some locations. The role requires physical capability to bend, squat, crouch, reach, and lift up to 50 pounds, as well as the ability to drive for extended periods, load and unload heavy equipment, and work in extreme weather conditions. All duties must be performed according to Sunbelt’s safety policies, with reasonable accommodations provided to comply with ADA/ADAAA. • Hold a high school diploma or GED and a valid driver’s license; prior rental experience preferred. • Demonstrate strong customer service, telephone, computer, and administrative skills. • Ability to lift up to 50 lb, bend, squat, and work in various weather conditions.

Base pay ranges from $21.38 to $29.39 per hour, with the starting rate varying based on location, education, training, and experience.
