About the Role
The technician works in a team‑oriented, safety‑first environment, adhering to PJHA, observation processes, and all company and site safety guidelines. Core duties involve knowledge and hands‑on work with PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, servo drives and Rockwell systems, including repair, logic reading, testing, calibration, and troubleshooting. Additional responsibilities cover maintenance and repair of pneumatic, mechanical, electrical, electromechanical and electronic instruments, as well as pumps, conveyors, piping, heat exchangers, HVAC/refrigeration, and other rotating equipment, all performed to established standards. Collaboration with the engineering team is required to identify and implement automation system upgrades, perform loop checks, wiring terminations, signal testing, and use diagnostic tools such as multimeters, meggers, and HART field communicators. The technician also trains fellow team members, documents work orders, and ensures compliance with customer regulations and company policies. • Perform installation, testing, calibration, and repair of PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, servo drives and related automation equipment. • Troubleshoot and resolve electrical and automation issues to minimize production downtime. • Conduct preventive maintenance on pumps, conveyors, piping, heat exchangers, HVAC/refrigeration, and rotating equipment. • Execute loop checks, wiring terminations, and signal testing for process control systems. • Collaborate with engineering to implement automation upgrades and improvements. • Use diagnostic tools (multimeters, meggers, HART communicators) to identify faults. • Train team members on operation and troubleshooting of automated systems. • Maintain accurate time tracking and work order documentation. • Follow safety protocols, including PJHA process, fall protection, and PPE usage. • Work at heights and operate forklifts, scissor lifts, basket trucks, and bobcats safely. • Lift up to 50 lb, stand for extended periods, and wear a respirator when required.

What You Bring
Candidates should hold an AA degree in Industrial Instrumentation, Electronics, Automation Technology, or equivalent experience, and possess at least three years of industrial controls and automation experience, preferably in food production. Required knowledge includes pH, flow, temperature, pressure, conductivity, AC/DC control methods, 24‑480 V systems, VFDs, burner controls, smart meters, load cells, control valves, blueprint reading, and preventive maintenance techniques. The role demands physical capabilities such as lifting up to 50 lb, working at heights on ladders, platforms or scaffolding with fall protection, and operating forklifts, scissor lifts, basket trucks, or bobcats. The work environment includes exposure to moving mechanical parts, noise, fumes, chemicals, electrical shock risk, extreme temperatures, and occasional wet or humid conditions. • Apply knowledge of PLC logic, Rockwell systems, and instrumentation (pH, flow, temperature, pressure, conductivity, mass). • Hold an AA degree in Industrial Instrumentation, Electronics, Automation Technology or equivalent and ≥3 years experience in industrial controls, preferably food production.
