About the Role
The Traffic Assistant supports the Traffic Manager by coordinating with contractors, consultants, highway authorities, utility companies, and community engagement teams, and is embedded within Integrated Project Teams. • Coordinate delivery contractors, consultants, highway authorities, utility companies and community engagement teams on traffic and transport matters. • Provide progressive assurance and review contractors' Local Traffic Management Plans for right‑first‑time submissions. • Document and update traffic management programmes and temporary traffic records for the assigned project area. • Assure that the project does not create new significant adverse effects and that HS2 traffic management obligations are met, escalating issues as needed. • Review, submit and monitor applications for highway consent for contractor works within the defined area. • Review contractors’ construction programmes and determine if method constraints are required to meet Environmental Statement requirements. • Promote and embed Equality, Diversity and Inclusion in all work and comply with organisational EDI policies. • Report quickly and effectively on qualitative and quantitative data. • Work methodically, follow processes and maintain detailed records of programmes and contents. • Apply knowledge of Chapter 8 Traffic Signs Manual standards to assure temporary traffic management designs and installations. • Compile reports, presentations and data models related to traffic management.

What You Bring

Offers are subject to pre‑employment checks, and the first assessment is based solely on the CV, which will be anonymised to remove bias. • Use Microsoft Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Access) and internet resources proficiently. • Understand the function and capability of traffic modelling tools. • Demonstrate experience in general traffic management, safety schemes, temporary traffic management standards and delivery of temporary works at traffic signals. • Hold a degree in transport, traffic, highway engineering or a similar numerate discipline, or possess equivalent training and experience. • Behave consistently with HS2 values of Safety, Leadership, Integrity and Respect.

Benefits
Location: Podium Euston, London. Base salary ranges from £39,233 to £46,157 per annum depending on skills and experience, plus a flexible benefits fund of 15% that is fully pensionable.
