About the Role

In this role you will lead the design of bridges and structures for roadways, highways, and transit systems throughout the region. You will independently develop and supervise engineering deliverables—including calculations, drawings, procurement documents, design packages, technical reports, and analyses—and perform complex structural analyses to ensure project success. Collaboration is essential; you will work closely with multidisciplinary teams, provide technical guidance to CAD designers and junior engineers, and mentor less‑experienced staff. Your leadership will drive continuous improvement through creative and innovative approaches to engineering challenges. • Lead design of bridges and structures for roadways, highways, and transit systems in New England. • Develop and supervise engineering deliverables: calculations, drawings, procurement documents, design packages, and technical reports. • Perform complex structural analyses and prepare design calculations. • Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams and provide technical guidance to CAD designers and junior engineers. • Supervise and mentor junior engineers, offering performance feedback. • Drive innovation and continuous improvement in engineering solutions.

What You Bring

Qualified candidates have at least five years of bridge/structural engineering and design experience, a BS in Civil Engineering with a structural emphasis (MS preferred), and a PE license is advantageous. Technical proficiency includes MS Office, industry‑standard bridge design and analysis software, AutoCAD or MicroStation, with Open Bridge Modeling a plus. Familiarity with state Bridge Design & Construction Manuals and strong organizational, planning, and emotional intelligence skills are also required. The position does not require a security clearance and is part of our Critical Infrastructure team, which has delivered essential infrastructure for over 80 years. • Require minimum 5 years bridge/structural engineering experience; BS in Civil Engineering (MS preferred); PE license preferred. • Proficient with MS Office, bridge design/analysis software, AutoCAD or MicroStation; Open Bridge Modeling a plus. • Knowledge of state Bridge Design & Construction Manuals is desirable.
