OMS / SOM Applications Engineer
Configure and support Outage Management System and related modules for utilities.
Job Highlights
About the Role
• Travel to customer sites to deliver, test, and integrate systems directly with customers. • Responsible for working directly on OMS configurations including Crew Management, ETRs, Field Mobility, and other OMS related modules. • Conduct system and acceptance testing with end customers to ensure functionality and compliance. • Responsible for working directly on SOM configurations including AMP and other OMS related modules. • Attend and actively participate in workshops related to SOM and/or OMS. • Collaborate with customers to understand operational needs and support planning, configuration, testing, implementation, and cutover phases for OMS systems. • Work with OMS leads and Technical leads to provide design documentation as needed for the OMS, SOM, and Field Mobility solutions, as part of the overall project. • Assist with solutioning and mitigation of all related issues and defects.

What You Bring
• Strong work ethic with a demonstrated ability to learn and adapt to new technologies and challenges. • Willingness to travel, averaging 25%. • 1-5 years of experience working directly on the OMS/SOM systems and associated modules. • Knowledge of utility switching operation to support SOM configuration and workshops. • Solid OT systems background with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues across complex systems, with assistance from the OMS Lead as necessary. • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent. • Knowledge of one or more OMS processes and modules, including outage management, dispatching, switching, and field mobility. • Preferably, above experience to include knowledge of products from at least one of the major ADMS/OMS vendors, such as GE, AspenTech/OSI, ABB, Schneider Electric, or Oracle NMS, however other vendors may be considered.
