About the Role
The position involves operating a variety of heavy equipment—including front‑end loaders, motor graders, excavators, dozers, scrapers, tractors, track hoes, and other light‑ and medium‑size machines—to complete construction tasks such as land clearing, mass excavation, pond and reservoir digging, road grading, and underground utility installation for civil, industrial, and wind‑energy projects. The operator is expected to follow all company and safety policies, coordinate machine movements with crew signals, and communicate clearly on‑site. Routine duties include loading and transporting materials, performing basic maintenance, and traveling to different job sites as needed, with flexibility to take on additional tasks assigned by supervisors. • Promote and adhere to company safety policies and procedures. • Operate a range of heavy equipment (loaders, graders, excavators, dozers, scrapers, tractors, etc.) to perform land clearing, excavation, grading, and utility work. • Build and grade terrain, including extreme or level surfaces, using appropriate machines. • Drive and maneuver blade‑equipped equipment to remove topsoil, vegetation, and rocks, and to level earth. • Load and transport dirt, stone, equipment, and waste onto trucks. • Excavate trenches to OSHA‑specified slopes. • Coordinate machine movements with crew signals and other site activities. • Perform routine maintenance such as cleaning, greasing, oiling, and complete daily maintenance reports. • Travel to various job sites on short notice as required. • Read and interpret safety rules, operating manuals, and procedural documents. • Perform basic calculations using units of weight and volume. • Participate actively in daily toolbox meetings and model safe behavior. • Follow precise standards of accuracy and established procedures. • Lift and carry objects up to 50 lb, work 12‑hour shifts, and operate in extreme weather and noisy conditions.

What You Bring
Candidates must have at least one year of heavy‑equipment operation experience (preferably 1‑3 years), be familiar with health‑ and safety programs, and be able to read and apply safety rules, manuals, and procedural documents. Required skills include basic math using weight and volume units, adherence to precise standards, and active participation in daily toolbox meetings. The role demands physical stamina to work up to 12‑hour shifts in varying temperatures, lift objects up to 50 lb, and perform repetitive motions such as pushing, pulling, and climbing. Workers must wear appropriate personal protective equipment, be comfortable operating at heights and in confined or noisy environments, and maintain good visual and auditory acuity. • Communicate clearly with crew members and understand spoken instructions. • Maintain at least 1 year of heavy‑equipment operation experience (1‑3 years preferred). • Use required personal protective equipment and work safely at heights and in confined spaces.
