About the Role

The Dams Engineering Project Manager role supports a variety of dam safety engineering projects throughout the East Region, reporting to one of several AECOM offices. This client‑facing position carries ownership for delivering dam engineering programs, driving business development, and preparing proposals for new and existing clients. Key duties include building and maintaining project schedules, managing resources, budgets, and risk, as well as planning and executing field investigations of hydraulic structures and embankments. The manager collaborates with multidisciplinary teams, performs quality reviews of design calculations and reports, mentors junior staff, oversees subcontractors, and travels to project sites when required. • Create and maintain project schedules, overseeing resources, budgets, and risk. • Plan and conduct field investigations of dams and related hydraulic structures. • Coordinate multidisciplinary teams and perform quality reviews of engineering deliverables. • Mentor junior engineers and manage subcontractor performance. • Travel to project sites as needed.

What You Bring

Minimum qualifications are a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering with coursework in geotechnical, structural, or hydrology/hydraulics engineering, six years of relevant experience, licensure as a Professional Engineer in at least one state (or the ability to pass the PE exam within six months), a valid U.S. driver’s license, and U.S. citizenship. Preferred qualifications include a master’s degree, experience with dam design, rehabilitation, or construction, proven leadership of multidisciplinary teams, the ability to complete AECOM’s Managing Projects training, and proficiency in software such as Power BI, Microsoft Project, Primavera P6, Bluebeam, Procore, or e‑Builder. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are also desired. • Hold a BS in Civil Engineering with 6+ years of relevant experience. • Be licensed as a Professional Engineer (or pass the PE exam within six months). • Maintain a valid U.S. driver’s license and U.S. citizenship. • Preferred: Master’s degree and experience with dam design or rehabilitation. • Preferred: Proven leadership of multidisciplinary project teams. • Preferred: Proficiency in Power BI, MS Project, Primavera P6, Bluebeam, Procore/e‑Builder. • Demonstrate strong verbal and written communication abilities.
