About the Role

We have an opportunity for a Cleaning Services Manager to join our Government and Integrated Facilities Management team. In this role you will provide front‑line management and supervision of cleaning activities across the Metro Trains Melbourne (MTM) contract portfolio, reporting to the Contract Manager and delivering high‑quality outcomes that support essential services. Key responsibilities include planning, organising and prioritising work to meet strict targets and deadlines, and providing timely, accurate information to internal and external stakeholders. You will develop effective relationships with the client and contract team, promote our range of services, identify new business opportunities and drive growth, while regularly monitoring contract performance to ensure compliance with specifications, KPIs and statutory obligations. Leadership and accountability for completing all tasks accurately and on time are essential. Downer plans, creates and sustains essential public services across Australia and New Zealand, managing critical infrastructure such as hospitals, data centres and defence partnerships. What You Bring

The ideal candidate holds a qualification in Cleaning Operations or an equivalent business/commercial qualification, and has proven experience managing multisite cleaning operations under commercial agreements. Experience in professional cleaning, contract and KPI management, client relationship development, and day‑to‑day administrative and auditing tasks is preferred. You should be skilled at reviewing work schedules, client reports and performance data to identify improvements, understand integrated facilities contracts, and bring a strong work ethic and positive attitude. • Hold a cleaning operations qualification or equivalent business/commercial training. • Demonstrated experience managing multisite commercial cleaning operations and contract/KPI administration.
