About the Role
The role involves inspecting, testing, adjusting, and repairing electric, electronic, mechanical, and pneumatic instruments used in chemical manufacturing, including meters, indicators, flowmeters, pressure gauges, temperature indicators, and controllers. Technicians will trace and test electrical and electronic components using schematics and test equipment, remove and decontaminate defective instruments, perform loop checks, SIS calibrations, and analyze calibrations of pH probes, LEL detectors, CO monitors, as well as fit and bend process tubing. • Install, repair, maintain, and calibrate electronic instrumentation. • Inspect, test, and adjust electric, electronic, mechanical, and pneumatic instruments. • Diagnose faulty flowmeters, pressure gauges, temperature indicators, and controllers. • Remove, decontaminate, disassemble, and replace defective instrument parts. • Perform loop checks, SIS calibrations, and analysis of pH probes, LEL detectors, CO monitors. • Fit and bend process and air tubing; lubricate instruments; replace wiring. • Record calibrations, parts used, and update inventory logs. • Prepare schematics, sketches, and reports of system changes. • Work safely using PPE and fall protection at heights up to 300 ft.

What You Bring
ZACHRY is currently seeking an experienced I/E Instrument Technician for its Maintenance Site BASF in Bishop, TX. This is a maintenance‑only position with no per‑diem offered. The technician will install, repair, maintain, and calibrate electronic equipment and gauges that control, regulate, or monitor mechanical systems. Candidates must have at least five years of instrumentation experience, be able to read blueprints, and work on both low‑ and high‑pressure tubing and piping systems. They must possess their own tools, work with precision instruments, hold a current TWIC card and a valid driver’s license, and follow all company and project policies. Physical demands include extensive standing, walking, bending, squatting, and lifting up to 50 lb, as well as working at heights up to 300 ft with proper fall protection. Workers must be able to operate outdoors in various weather conditions and wear required PPE such as hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, fall‑arrest harness, face shield, ear plugs, and goggles. Required certifications are NCCER Industrial Instrument Technician and NCCER Plus, along with a valid driver’s license, successful drug test, and background check.
