About the Role

The 5S Technician position is located at our Williamsburg, VA facility. The technician is responsible for implementing and maintaining workplace organization standards based on the 5S methodology (Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain), ensuring work areas are clean, organized, and optimized for efficiency, safety, and productivity. In this role, the technician collaborates with operations, maintenance, and quality teams to drive continuous improvement initiatives, developing visual controls, providing training, and preparing performance reports for management. • Apply and maintain 5S standards across designated work areas. • Conduct regular 5S audits, document findings, and ensure corrective actions using benchmark software. • Develop and maintain visual management tools such as labels, signage, and floor markings. • Educate and coach team members on 5S principles and best practices. • Identify waste‑reduction opportunities and drive continuous improvement projects. • Prepare and present 5S performance reports to management. • Ensure safety and quality compliance during 5S activities. • Create standard work procedures and support standardization of work areas.

What You Bring

Candidates must hold a high school diploma or equivalent, with a technical certification preferred, and have at least one year of experience in Lean Manufacturing or 5S. Applicants should be within a 50‑mile radius of Richmond, VA (military exemptions apply), able to work independently and in teams, and capable of standing, walking, and performing manual tasks for extended periods. • Hold technical certification in 5S or Continuous Improvement (preferred). • Demonstrate familiarity with Kaizen, TPM, and other continuous improvement tools.
