About the Role
KBR is seeking a Senior Security Specialist to support a U.S. Government customer at the Naval Research Laboratory in Washington, DC. The role involves enforcing and monitoring security procedures, ensuring compliance with government and company policies covering physical access, clearances, packages, documentation, and debriefings. The specialist may develop and implement security procedures, conduct briefings, maintain education programs, investigate losses, and coordinate liaison activities with external agencies and senior management. • Develop and implement physical security plans for SCI, including construction security plans and SCIF checklists. • Review design files for new and existing SCIF constructions and ensure compliance with SAP security policy. • Manage co‑use agreements, MOUs, and SCIF co‑use requests; complete annual SCIF inspections. • Operate intrusion detection systems, conduct alarm testing and response drills with security forces. • Use DISS to send and receive visit requests, confirm clearances, and handle foreign travel notifications. • Utilize IT systems such as M3 messaging, DoD Safe, DOTS, and Intelink for secure document scanning and file transfers. • Maintain SCIF records, review and approve equipment and medical device requests. • Interpret and apply policy guidance (IC Tech Spec, DoDM 5105.21, DoDM 5200.01, DoDM 5205.07) to create SOPs and guidance. • Develop training materials and deliver briefings to SCIF custodians. • Manage task schedules and coordinate meetings (VTC, Teams) with email invitations. • Communicate with SSO Navy on behalf of NRL SSO and prepare designation letters.

What You Bring
• College degree (or 8 years relevant experience in lieu of degree). • 4‑6 years relevant experience at a mid‑level. • Experience with ICD/ICS 705 and physical security for SCI. • Experience using DISS. • U.S. citizenship with Top‑Secret/SCI clearance (or eligibility). • Customer‑service mindset with strong oral and written communication skills. • Excellent organizational abilities. • Familiarity with JWICS, DIA Security, SSO Navy, M3, Scattered Castles, and related JWICS websites. • Proactive tactical and strategic thinker and problem solver. • Willingness to learn additional SCI security functions, including personnel, information, and cyber security.

Benefits
The position offers a salary range of $100,395 to $150,650 for Maryland locations, with the final rate based on knowledge, skills, abilities, experience, contract affordability, and internal parity.
