About the Role
The Cost Specialist role, based onsite in Birmingham, AL, reports to the Project Controls/Cost Manager and supports complex EPC projects from kickoff through completion by transforming data into actionable cost insights. This full‑time position follows a Monday‑Friday, 8 AM‑5 PM schedule with up to 15 % domestic travel. The specialist works closely with project managers, operations directors, and technical leaders to align financials with project goals while maintaining compliance with company controls. Responsibilities include cost tracking, forecasting, risk analysis, and delivering clear reports to stakeholders. • Track, analyze, and forecast costs, budgets, and financial trends for multi‑year EPC projects. • Partner with Project Managers, Operations Directors, and technical leaders to align financials with project goals. • Oversee cost changes, deviations, and risks, proactively anticipating challenges. • Create and deliver cost reports and dashboards in Power BI or similar tools for clients and leadership. • Support Project Controls Execution Plans and ensure compliance with company standards. • Serve as the primary resource for cost insights on high‑impact EPC projects.

What You Bring
• 3–10 years of experience in cost management and project controls. • Expertise in forecasting, cost control, change management, and risk analysis. • Ability to translate complex financial data into clear, actionable insights. • Proficiency with JDE, EcoSys, Procore, Excel, and Power BI. • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Business, Finance, or equivalent experience. • Willingness to travel up to 15 % domestically.
