About the Role

• Advocate safety first and maintain high standards of safety, quality, cost, programme, sustainability and compliance. • Design and implement PMO and project controls frameworks for assigned commissions. • Develop expertise and networks with clients, contractors, consultancies and other stakeholders. • Provide tactical and technical project controls advice to clients. • Act as primary interface with clients, stakeholders and consultants throughout project stages. • Value contractor monthly applications, including measured work, preliminaries and materials. • Assess and negotiate variations, preparing full substantiating documentation. • Manage post‑contract cost variances, change control, cost checking and valuation processes. • Produce performance reports covering KPI, risk and resource analysis. • Review monthly spend and schedule data to achieve KPIs.

Mace is expanding its team for 2025 and is seeking an experienced Project Controls Manager with construction and project management experience. The role offers the chance to work with Mace, a company dedicated to redefining ambition and delivering responsible, transformative projects worldwide. The position is based in Indianapolis, supporting life‑science, technology and manufacturing capital projects, but candidates outside the area may be considered for a fly‑in‑fly‑out or remote model if they have the right to work in the US without sponsorship. Mace’s consult business combines practical expertise with delivery consultancy to unlock project potential. • Degree in construction management, engineering, quantity surveying or related field; MS or MBA preferred. • Professional membership such as MRICS/RICS or equivalent, progressing toward fellowship. • Strong written, verbal and presentation communication skills with ability to deliver actionable insights. • Knowledge of value engineering, life‑cycle costing and construction contractual frameworks. • Experience in pharma, technology or similar manufacturing sectors. • Experience with EPMO systems such as Unifier or Procore. • Membership in professional bodies like RICS, CIOB, APM, ICE or equivalent. • Deep property or infrastructure project management expertise. • Strong commercial and financial acumen. • Experience directing large, diverse teams. • Proven ability to manage relationships with senior stakeholders. • Understanding of carbon and sustainability considerations for projects.
