About the Role

The specialist will promote a safe and healthy work environment, drive continuous improvement of EHS systems, and ensure regulatory compliance. They will collaborate with project leads, including journeymen and service technicians, to embed safety and health requirements into work products and activities. Reporting to the Senior Safety & Risk Manager, the role works directly with functional leads on construction and design projects across California and Nevada. The position involves on‑site work at various facilities and requires strong computer literacy with Microsoft Office applications. • Conduct safety assessments/inspections of construction projects to ensure compliance with contractual, legal, and site‑specific EHS plans. • Promote and improve the company’s safety leading measures. • Develop, prepare, and implement environmental, safety, and security policies and procedures with management. • Identify opportunities to eliminate injuries, accidents, and health problems. • Assist the Safety & Risk Manager in creating Method of Procedure (MOP) and critical activity plans. • Investigate injuries, vehicle accidents, spills, theft, vandalism, and property damage and produce root‑cause analysis reports. • Deliver safety and compliance training for supervisors and field employees. • Perform “competent person” duties, stopping unsafe operations when necessary. • Prepare comprehensive written reports documenting site visits, activities, and incidents.

Rex Moore is seeking a full‑time Site Safety Specialist to work on construction sites near Reno, Nevada. The position offers an hourly wage from $40.29 to $63.51, up to 25 % travel, and day shifts. The company, with more than a century of experience, provides integrated EHS solutions across the United States. The job demands occasional physical activity such as lifting up to 50 lb, climbing, and working in confined spaces, as well as regular communication, hearing, and vision capabilities to perform detailed safety assessments. • Minimum 3 years construction safety experience and OSHA 500 or equivalent certification (OSHA 30 valid within 5 years). • Graduate Safety Professional or ASP certification preferred; electrical trade experience a plus. • Knowledge of state/federal construction safety regulations, NFPA 70E, excavation, fall protection, confined space. • First Aid, CPR, AED certifications and ability to lead emergency events. • Strong analytical, problem‑solving, supervisory and leadership skills; proficient in Microsoft Office. • Ability to work split shifts, overtime, weekends, and travel as needed; self‑driven and team‑oriented. • Occasionally lift or move up to 50 lb; climb, balance, stoop, kneel, reach at waist level. • Regular communication verbally and hearing; ability to sit, walk, and stand for extended periods. • Vision requirements include close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth perception, with or without correction.
