About the Role
The Traffic Signal Technician is responsible for the maintenance, repair, installation, and operation of traffic signals, Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) electrical equipment, and fiber optic components, ensuring compliance with plans, specifications, codes, and industry standards. The role works both independently and collaboratively to provide optimal service to Yunex Traffic customers. Key duties include installing, repairing, and maintaining traffic signal and ITS systems, servicing fiber equipment by testing and replacing faulty components, and installing, troubleshooting, and repairing CCTV, MVDS units, and DMS signs. The technician also installs traffic signal, fiber optic, and streetlight cable and follows direction from superintendents and project managers throughout the shift. • Install, repair, and maintain traffic signal and ITS systems. • Service traffic signal and fiber equipment: check, test, splice, and replace faulty LED modules, electronic components, cables, loop detectors, switches, and fixtures. • Install, troubleshoot, and repair CCTV, MVDS units, and DMS signs. • Install traffic signal, fiber optic, and streetlight cable. • Follow directions from superintendents and project managers on miscellaneous shift tasks.

What You Bring
Applicants must hold a high school diploma or GED, have 3‑5 years of recent traffic signal technician experience, and be comfortable working in field and construction crews. A Journeyman Electrician license can substitute for experience, and candidates must be able to read technical documents, lift up to 75 lb, work at heights, hold a valid driver’s license, and pass a DOT physical and drug test. Preferred qualifications include IMSA Level I or II certification and work‑zone safety credentials.
