About the Role

The Data/Cloud Engineer position is located in Chantilly, VA, and supports innovation labs developing tools, models, and algorithms for satellite and ground systems. The role focuses on designing cloud‑based data storage strategies, migrating legacy applications, and maintaining cloud services to enable data retrieval and analysis. • Design and develop cloud‑based data storage strategies using AWS and Azure services. • Build and maintain cloud data storage, retrieval, and dissemination services. • Migrate on‑premises legacy applications and data to existing cloud infrastructure. • Implement best practices for cloud monitoring, management, and security. • Research and deploy cloud services to support applications and maintain operations. • Apply scientific methods and algorithms to extract insights from structured and unstructured data. • Develop, test, and maintain AI/ML models and data exploitation algorithms. • Evaluate R&D proposals for feasibility and alignment with mission goals.

What You Bring

• Possess at least 10 years of experience as a Data/Cloud Systems Engineer. • Hold a bachelor’s degree in engineering or a quantitative science field; master’s preferred. • Demonstrated expertise with AWS tools (S3, Lambda, EC2, CloudWatch) and Microsoft Azure. • Experience creating large data sets, robust data processing pipelines, and high‑performance ML models. • Ability to lead teams and define verification and test strategies for complex programs (desired). • Active TS/SCI clearance with a current polygraph is required.
